Will people call me a fake?

Whiplash

A lot of Gulf Coast traffic accident victims are failing to collect money that could help get them well and support their families while they recover.

I am referring to people who have been rear-ended and suffer from what is commonly known as whiplash.  This is called a soft tissue injury and the injury is not easily detectable by x-ray. That is why it has gotten a reputation for being an injury that is faked.

This is the part that surprises me.  A lot of people will not go after compensation for fear that they will be called fakers. Well, it is not fake if you are really hurt. Let’s face it, you know if you are hurt and in pain.

Most soft tissue injuries only last a few months and then people get back to their normal lives. But that is still several months of lost wages, medical bills and pain. Unless your case is very rare, you will not collect huge sums of money. You will however collect what you deserve to get your life back together.

I’ll give you some insight into this type of case. Since it doesn’t easily show up on an x-ray, I often have to collect a paper trail of your care and your suffering. The best is medical but it can also include non-medical sources like co-workers, family, clergy and social workers.

Here is the bottom line. If you do not have an attorney in this type of case, chances are very good that you will not collect anything but if you don’t pursue the case you definitely will not collect anything.

If you are injured or suffer property damage, you can talk to us at Eiland and Ritchie for free. There is no charge unless we collect for you. We want to help you get back on your feet.
